Pastor's Bio
Dr. Fitzgerald A. Reed is a dedicated leader within Salem Christian Church, recognized for his commitment to teaching and service. He consistently strives to deliver authentic messages grounded in the principles of his faith and maintains a strong dedication to both his congregation and outreach efforts beyond church walls. His mission centers on guiding, leading, and facilitating spiritual growth. As the eldest of three siblings, Dr. Reed assumed responsibilities from an early age, developing leadership and caretaking skills that continued to shape his approach throughout his career. He draws inspiration from a family legacy deeply rooted in service and devotion; both of his grandparents held significant ministry roles within their church community. Today, he continues this tradition as a preacher, educator, author, and pastor, while also maintaining close relationships with his children and grandchildren. Dr. Reed was born again in 1996 and called to preach the gospel, beginning his pastoral journey in 1997. He was ordained into the ministry in 2005. He is committed to fostering growth and resilience among those he leads, encouraging personal development and holistic well-being—including spiritual, intellectual, and physical aspects. He prioritizes ongoing study, reflection, and self-care as integral to his leadership. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Religion (2005) and a Master of Arts in Leadership (2008), both from Luther Rice Seminary and University, as well as a Doctor of Strategic Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership (2019). In addition to his ministry, he is a published author, having written “Courageous Christian Leadership” and co-authored “Biblical Organizational Spirituality.” Dr Reed is a licensed Chaplain with the International Fellowship of Chaplains (IFOC). In 2025, HWPL recognized Dr. Reed as one of the 100 DeKalb Leaders for Peace and Community. Within Salem Christian Church, Dr. Reed's roles have included Lead Pastor, leader of the Men of Valor and Intercessory Prayer team, and mentor in public schools and the broader community. His professional pursuits also extend to business, where he serves as an Executive Consultant at Eagles Professional Services and holds a license as an Insurance and Real Estate Broker. |
